COACH

CARLOS ALMEIDA

Coach Almeida joined Race Pace Club-Ky in the spring of 2018 after an amazing personal swim career in swimming himself.  Swimming for the University of Louisville, Carlos was the first swimmer in the school’s history to claim a title at the NCAA Division I Championships, winning the 2012 NCAA championship in the 200 breast stroke with a time of 1:51.88.  He also had the privilege to swim in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics for his home country of Portugal.  Following his collegiate career, Carlos was sponsored by Tyr and swam professionally for two years, training both under Arthur Albiero at the University of Louisville and Dave Salo at USC.  Carlos brings a great amount of experience to Race Pace Club-Ky, coaching not only endurance training in practice, but also technical skills and tactical race strategies.
